Wherever you turn on social media you are being asked to up-level, scale your business, grow to $10,000 a week, or have a 6-figure business., so are life coaches accidentally investing in marketing? Or…do they really need to?
Are life coaches falling into a trap where they are being encouraged to spend vasts amounts of money, when they probably need to invest very little.
Why are life coaches investing in to funnels and websites, when their best tool is the ability ask questions, and the chances are the coach only needs a handful of clients anyway. So why are they being encouraged to have 1000s of people pass through their marketing funnel?
Every solution being offered to you is apparently perfect.
The last piece of the puzzle. etc.
So how do you work out what’s best for you, without being taken in by promises and emotions?
Can we start with your values and qualities?
Yes, I know the whole world and their dog talks about niche, getting your offer right and low ticket vs high ticket, but there is something more important to address.
It is imperative we create happiness in the workplace
I want you to think about James, he studied for years to find his dream job, and he couldn’t have been happier when he landed his first position. However, a month into the job of his dreams things were not right. His boss was never around and ordered him around through long and nasty emails. His colleagues either didn’t want to help him settle, or didn’t have the time to offer him. There was no real welcome and no one went home happy.
Now consider Ellen.
Single mother of 2 who lost her office job due to redundancy and had to work on a production line. She really wasn’t looking forward to working in this factory, and while the work was a little dull, a radio played her favourite local station and all of the staff were friendly. One person started to car share with her, and the little team she was in all ate together and Ellen started to bake and bring in her homemade food.
What’s this got to do with business coaching? And Are life coaches accidentally investing in marketing?
It’s the people you work with.
So what am I getting to?
1. Is the content really what you need?
2. Can you work with this coach?
3. Will you have the time you need with the coach?
They are the questions you need to ask.
And sometimes we join a coach because it takes us away from what really needs to be done.
A coaching business is really quite simple.
You need a problem to solve for a specific audience, an offer and people who are ready to listen to you. That’s it.
Do you really need to spend?
I am not saying, do not invest.
What I want to make clear is this.
1. Stay practical.
2. Move away from the emotion.
3. Do you have the basics of business in place?
If you want to move your coaching business forward, and you are unsure how to it, have a chat with me. We will remove emotion, keep things practical and we will assess the foundations of your business.
Do it right 🙂
