What does heartset mean to you?
What does heartset mean to someone who was 4 years ago a single mother of 3 in one of the most expensive cities in the world? What does it mean to someone who has spent half her adult life working and living in a city only to have to leave it after twelve years, with three kids and a nanny in tow?  It’s deep, raw, and personal. Yet incredibly simple.

Heartset is accepting and being grateful of our current circumstances, along with everything that led us here, right now.  It’s trusting the process that led us to become the person that we are now as we transformed those circumstances to be greatly in our favor. It’s knowing that every event, every failure, every losses, successes, laughter and challenges, are meant exactly to bring us to this very moment where we are supposed to thrive and be the best version of ourselves.

How does heartset make mindset easier?
Have you ever been in an extremely chaotic situation and all people could say is “stay optimistic”? And felt how invalidating that is?

Heartset at its core is gratitude and using that positive feeling of acceptance to program our brain, develop that mindset that sees opportunities in the midst of all the chaos. Accepting that we are where we are, at this very moment because that’s exactly where we are supposed to be and be grateful for it. And that all successes, failures, achievements and struggles are designed so that we can stand exactly where we are on this very second.  An effective mindset can only come from a content and grateful heart.

The brain thinks, but the heart knows. Effective mindset must come from a place of love, resilience, acceptance.  We can’t convince the mind to be happy when our heart is not.

How can people practice heartset?
Things surprisingly got better when I learnt to accept and be grateful for everything that has happened to us. My kids were denied in two of the best schools in my city and we had to settle for a “not so known” school. Turned out they had a special program for those who can’t speak a single word of the local language. Phew! It is also where I met the man who is now my life’s partner.

Staying positive is exhausting when it’s treated as a necessity. It was only when I pieced all the puzzles and was awed at how intricately planned everything was, that I realized this: right here is where I’m supposed to be. My brain then saw opportunities where there used to be why’s. All the positive self talk became more sincere, more authentic at the very least. Evidently, they are also more effective.

What is the key to a limitless mindset?
So when you’re thinking how can we have infinite mindset?  How can we program our brain to be hardwired to everything our hearts desire?  We firstly need to be happy and grateful with where we are right now. To be grateful for this moment. To be grateful that we’re able to stand, pause and think about what we can do to make things better, to be able to practice manifestation.  To be grateful for the friends and family we have.  To be happy and grateful with our lives as we wish to grow it further.

Whatever the mind can conceive, it can achieve.  And whatever our heart feels, the mind conceives.  It all starts within.  And it all depends on how grateful we are with what we already have. How happy and appreciative we are of the gifts we are already blessed with.

I know I am.
