An interview with Aura Trappel Life Coach
What is the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome in your life?
I lost both of my parents in the space of 10 months and soon after went through my third divorce. This was one of the most painful times of my life.
Navigating through the painful layers I realized why it felt so bad and why I kept having the same negative emotions. These feelings were begging for my attention.
I had to face the pain, embrace it, process it, and then recycle it. I knew it had a purpose!
The journey of healing offered me the most amazing gifts, helped me become the person and the coach I am today so that I can inspire and guide others towards their most successful life.
Today I train new coaches to believe in their MAGIC, to know that everything is possible so that they spread the word and impact the lives of millions of people.
What are your three top tips to overcome the obstacle?
What I know to be true is that hard times stimulate growth in a way that good times don’t.
Facing challenges and navigating one’s way through them builds resilience capacity.
Through obstacles, we find balance and learn to keep emotions in check. They help us be honest and realistic. They are humbling. They focus us on the end game.
My top tips to overcome any obstacles are:
- Zoom Out
Distance yourself from the drama. When you are too close you can’t see clear, you are attached and give that obstacle way too much power. Zoom out and see the BIG picture. What would you be thinking about this challenge 5, 10 years from now?
2. Work on your Beliefs
You get in life what you believe you deserve. Are you aware of your beliefs?
All beliefs can be changed, and many of them need to be changed. Beliefs are changed with new evidence and new truths.
3. Look for Role Models
Look for information and support from people who are going through or have experienced similar challenges. Humans are social creatures.
We need to hear that people who are facing similar challenges can live full lives.
These stories give us hope.
This is one of the reasons that support groups and blogs are so successful.
To live a remarkable life, it is vital you understand, accept and love yourself.
