An interview with Dave Holloway Life Coach
What is the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome in your life?
This is a tough question for me.
I don’t consider myself to have had to overcome any big obstacle in my life.
My father, a huge influence on my life, died at a relatively young age. I got married, we had three children but the marriage ended in divorce. I moved back in with my mother at the age of 43. At the same time, I had to close my business and, for the first time in my life, take a job working for someone else. I subsequently left that role and started a new incarnation of my previous business from scratch.
At the beginning of 2021, I took the decision to refocus my business, turning it into something new, doing what I love, and turning what had started as an offering for friends into my full-time career.
For many people, any one of the above could be seen as a big obstacle, a major challenge, or a life-changing event but I never saw it that way. I have learnt to be unflappable, remaining calm within the eye of the storm. Most of my friends and family would say I am consistent. I have developed a calmness and tranquillity which lend themselves perfectly to my meditations and helping people to get better sleep.
What are your three top tips to overcome the obstacle?
My three top tips to help you relax into better sleep are to ask yourself:
- What responsibilities do you need to lose in your life, that you should not be owning anyway?
- What decisions do you need to make in order for this to happen?
- How do you want to feel after?
