An interview with Katrina Grihault Life Coach
What is the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome in your life?
The biggest obstacle I’ve overcome is a lack of self-worth.
As a result of an abusive childhood and a subsequent mentally and financially abusive relationship, my self-worth was non-existent.
I realised that nothing was going to change unless I did, because when you don’t believe in yourself, nobody else, aside from those that know and love you, will either. That means you AND your business, and so I began the process of putting myself and my life back together.
Self-worth is literally the key to the door of creating the life that you dream about.
What are your three top tips to overcome the obstacle?
- Discover what you bring to the table. Your strengths are your gift to the world, own your awesomeness!
2. Discover what your weaknesses are and take steps to really work on them and turn yourself into the best possible version of yourself. The things you can´t change, accept. They are part of the beautiful fabric of YOU. We don’t need to be perfect, we just need to be whole and we achieve that through self-reflection and self-acceptance.
3. Choose your circle wisely. The people with whom you surround yourself play a huge role in our self-worth. When you have low self-worth, you can be a magnet for people who take advantage of you. How? Because when you have low self-worth, you tend to have poor boundaries and lean-to people-pleasing. Surrounding yourself with the right people will help you to grow, evolve, and finally begin to believe in yourself. After all, if you are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with, then it stands to reason that you must be pretty awesome too!
